The gameplay is solid, if not as deep as some of its contemporaries or more recent titles like Streets of Rage 4. But, like the movie version of Scott Pilgrim, it’s also incredibly stylish. Fighting enemies is really just an excuse to see the gorgeous pixel art and listen to the amazing soundtrack. Sometimes, after clearing out a wave of enemies, I’ll just sit for a second to soak in the sound and visuals. I’ve been playing on the PS5 via backwards compatibility, and the experience holds up extremely well.

Game 1 world series
This will be the 12th time the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers meet in the World Series, the most of any two teams in Major League Baseball. While once a frequent match-up, it’s one that hasn’t been seen in over 40 years.
* Giancarlo Stanton remains in the cleanup spot, which makes sense considering how white-hot he’s been with the bat as of late. Austin Wells will hit eighth; the usual cleanup hitter against right-handed pitchers.
Replay quickly confirmed that it was fan interference, and that fan quickly made the decision to get out of the stadium as quickly as possible. It’s very possible that ball would have left the stadium, anyway, but we’ll never know.
Clearly, the fan reached over the wall. That ball was not going to be a home run though. It was going to be a double. Teoscar Hernández was not going to catch it, and a double it was called on the field and after replay. Nothing controversial, right? It’s rare that we get a fan reaching over the wall and everyone is in agreement about the outcome.
Flaherty got Gleyber Torres out on a liner to third, and he then walked Juan Soto on four pitches. He struck out Aaron Judge, but Tommy Edman wasn’t able to handle a hard-hit grounder for Giancarlo Stanton to put runners on first-and-second. The 29-year-old was able to get Jazz Chisholm to ground out to second to escape the inning without damage.
Game 2 world series
“In a game where we really got shut down there in the middle innings, our compete to the very end was really good,” Boone said. “We gave ourselves a chance to get right back in it and even win that game off a very good reliever. I loved the at-bats there at the end, the compete, the fight. I thought even Trevy got off a good swing off Vesia.
Yamamoto struggled in his first postseason start — similiar to how he struggles in his first MLB one; both against the Padres — but since then he’s been mostly effective. He blanked the Padres in Game 5 over five innings, and while he did allow a pair of runs over 4 1/3 innings, he was able to get eight strikeouts while helping the Dodgers clinch the trip to the World Series. Yamamoto has his ups-and-downs, but certainly has the stuff to keep the Dodgers in the game.
• Freeman joined Jackson, for the A’s and Yankees, as the only players to homer in consecutive World Series games for multiple teams. The only other players with multiple World Series homers for multiple teams are Corey Seager (LAD, TEX), Dave Henderson (BOS, OAK), Lenny Dykstra (PHI, NYM) and Reggie Smith (BOS, LAD).
Yamamoto is looking stronger in this postseason after returning from an arm injury in September. It helped that his offense immediately gave him the lead back after the Soto home run as first baseman Freddie Freeman incurred multiple standing ovations — both before homering in the third inning of Game 2 and in response to his Game 1 winner.
